Renee Biertempfel grew up in
the countryside of Harmony, Pa. which was wonderful for the
imagination. That is where she was inspired to draw fairies
and other magical creatures. Years later she went to the Art
Institute of Pennsylvania and got her degree in Visual
Communications. Not long after she was hired by a company that
manufactured gift items. She worked there for 5 years as a
designer and illustrator. Eventually she moved on to other
companies creating signs,advertising,photo retouching and
restoration. Thats when she discovered digital colorization.
which she uses now with her illustrations. She is inspired by
Alan Lee and Brian Froud, late Victorian art, Art Nouveau,
and many other Fantasy artists. She live in Pa with her Fiance,
who is a fantastic medieval armorer in the SCA and two cats
Ginger and Gremlyn and a love bird Ms Phoebe.
